About Us

Twin Brook Ministries is here to facilitate events to connect men/and at times families, and to encourage men in their various roles and responsibilities. We do this by hosting frequent men’s breakfasts, hosting Christian speakers and mucisians, and organizing Bible studies.

The Founder

Mervin J. Beiler
Founder, Owner, Entrepreneur
Merv was born into an Amish family in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. As a boy, he learned to work hard and help others. In his teens, Merv worked on framing houses with his father and brothers—where the value of working hard and honoring the people he served was engrained in him. He is grateful for the work ethic he was taught from his family and heritage. This helped him be able to start his own construction company, M. Jay Builders, where he and his team are committed to integrity, quality, and creativity.
2014 is a year forever etched in Merv’s heart. It was during that year that he experienced a radical transformation in his life. Merv’s life was full of hard work, going to church, and close community relationships. These are all good things, but for Merv something was missing. God opened Merv’s eyes and revealed to him that only through redemption in Christ alone can all of his hard work, success in business, and church attendance bring glory to God. The Lord came through clear and Merv became undone before a Holy God.
“For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart—These, O God, You will not despise.”
The result was radical changes in his life and view of everything around him. He started living for the Lord’s glory, and desired to seek new ways to serve Him through work, daily life, and his property. Merv enjoys transformation and new ideas. He thrives on creating opportunities for others to grow spiritually and connect with others.
From this came his vision for Twin Brook Retreat, an environment where people are empowered to learn about God while experiencing the richness and fullness of His presence. God does nothing unintentional – it’s about timing and our willingness to listen, respond, and surrender to Him.
Merv met Candace in 2018, who became the next part of God’s master plan for Merv (and Candace) on the property he had given Merv in Gap, PA. Candace grew up in a close family of 11 children, where she taught music. They married on April 13th 2019. Candace is integral to Twin Brook Retreat and the Kingdom work to be done. She enjoys her part in maintaining the property, and is excited about the vision God is showing for the property.
Merv and Candace live at Twin Brook Retreat in the Stone House. Merv is the visionary behind turning what use to be a winery into the restful, peaceful place it is today, where people can stay overnight, attend events, or make use of the smaller spaces for personal time with the Lord. Merv and Candace both love working around the property – there’s a really good chance you’ll see them around. They enjoy meeting guests and sharing about what the Lord has done to bring about the venue.
The Beiler family is committed to doing their part in God’s Kingdom work through raising a Godly family and being a life-giving part of their community. This is at the core of their work as they serve people in business and the property. This is the heartbeat that drives what they do. Their desire is to give freely so that people can receive hope and be empowered to also do Kingdom work.
